Curfews for minors, adults discussed in Welsh
WELSH – The Board of Aldermen here would like to see stricter enforcement of curfews for minors under 17, but the police chief would also like to see a temporary curfew set for all age groups while police work to deter troubles in the northwestern neighborhoods.
The curfew concerns coincide with a steady crime wave that people are seeing in that part of town. Police Chief Tommy Chaisson said patrols have been stepped up in that area and officials are awaiting word from Gov. Bobby Jindal’s office as to whether Louisiana State Police will be assigned to the town for patrol assistance.
