Bulldogs bring home first place

Parish track meet

On Friday, Welsh hosted the annual parish track meet where Jennings High School took home first place in the girls and boys divisions. Also receiving top honors were Matti Smith of Lake Arthur who earned 26 points and Mister Castille of Jennings who earned 20 points in running events. In the field, Hathaway’s Hannah Miller earned 18 points, while Austin Bertrand of Elton chalked up 30 points in the boys’ field events.

In the girls’ high jump, Elton’s Kanada Issac placed first at a height of 4’8”. Hayley Guidry of Lacassine placed second at 4’6”. Tied for third was Lake Arthur’s Sabrina Benoit and Hathaway’s Claudia Parsley at 4’2”. Placing fifth was Hathaway’s Christin Crader at 4’.
