First responders risk lives to save local man

First responders with the Jennings police and fire departments literally saved a local man’s life Saturday night.

And they risked their own lives to do so.

(From left) Blake Bergeaux, 24, is a 10-year member of the JFD and new reserve for the JPD; Heath Bertrand, 29, has been a reserve with the JPD for four months, deputy sheriff with the JDSO for three years and reserve with the JFD for 16 years; Terrance Guidry, 24, has one year of experience with the JPD and six years of total law enforcement experience; Jason Bridges, 22, also has one year of experience with the JPD, after serving one year in Iraq with the National Guard; and Alex West, 24, is a three-year member of the JDSO and nine-year volunteer with the JFD.
