Hounds, Lady Tigers claim district wins

WELSH – The Lake Arthur Tiger diamond teams visited the Greyhounds and Lady Hounds Wednesday for a 4-2A district clash. The home Hounds claimed a 6-1 win over their visitors to improve to 4-1 in league play, while the Lady Tigers upended their hosts, 10-2, to even their district record at 4-4.
All four diamond teams return to the field tonight to resume 4-2A play. Lake Arthur’s two teams are scheduled to host visiting Kinder, while the Welsh baseball and softball squads are set to visit Vinton.
The Welsh vs. Lake Arthur rivalry resulted in plenty of action at home plate, as the teams split district victories in their Wednesday night contests.
