One charged in crash on I-10

On Tuesday at 1:42 p.m., troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police (LSP) Troop D responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 (I-10) in Jennings that sent a Eunice man to the hospital with serious injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by 30-year-old Eddie P. Miller of Eunice was traveling on south on the north service road when Miller failed to negotiate a 90-degree turn in the road, according to LSP Public Affairs officer Sgt. James Anderson.
A Eunice man was charged with careless operation on Tuesday after he fell asleep at the wheel and crossed from the service road onto I-10, striking an 18-wheeler.
