Benoit, Istre united in marriage
Nancy Benoit of Jennings and Floyd Istre of Lake Arthur were married at 7 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings, with Father Anthony Fontenot officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Sharline Benoit Kershaw of Jennings and the late Deacon Mark Benoit. She is the granddaughter of the late Gilbert and Sarah Benoit and the late Landry and Agnes Clement.
A 2001 graduate of Jennings High School, she is currently attending LSUE and is employed with Jeff Davis Bank and Trust.
The groom is the son of Darla Lacomb of Oberlin and Anthony Istre of Gueydan.
He is the grandson of Floyd and Ethel Istre of Gueydan, Velta Lacomb of Lake Arthur, the late Isaac Lacomb and William LaBauve of Jennings.
A 2004 graduate of Lake Arthur High School, he is currently employed with Island Operating Company.
Escorted by her mother and her son, Mark Istre, the bride wore a strapless gown of ivory silk taffeta which featured a fitted bodice and corset back. The dress was embellished with ivory lace, seed pearls and crystal sequins. The full cathedral train fell softly from the fitted, dropped waistline. The front featured a beautiful lace panel on one side. She wore a veil in her hair and carried a bouquet of white Akito roses with Crystal California-grown blush calla lilies accented with Swarovski crystals, pearls and pearl bridal wax flowers. Ribbon embellished the sheer silk and silver accents. In memory of her father, the bride adorned her bouquet with his antique wooden rosary.
Maid of honor was Maggie Benoit of Jennings, sister of the bride.
Matron of honor was Sharlie Benoit of Jennings, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Hanks and Monique LeBlue, both of Welsh, and Holly Miller of Lake Arthur.
They wore navy satin strapless, floor-length gowns which featured a short chapel train and wide silver sash at the waist. They wore dyed-to-match navy shoes.
Best man was Cory LaFosse of Lake Arthur, cousin of the groom.
Groomsmen were Kyle Fuselier of Lafayettte, Nicholas Badon of Jennings, brother-in-law of the groom, Matthew Leger of Lake Arthur and Scott Bertrand of Gueydan.
Ushers were Alex Roach of Welsh, cousin of the bride and Bryce Zaunbrecher of Lake Arthur, cousin of the groom.
Flower girl was Amaney LaBouve of Welsh, godchild of the bride.
Ring bearer was Colby Badon of Jennings, godchild of the bride.
Gift bearers were Bryan Benoit of Lake Arthur, uncle of the bride, and Mary Clement of Jennings, aunt of the bride.
Sinters were James Roach of Welsh, cousin of the bride, and Ryan Quebedeaux of Lake Arthur. Reader was Britney Sonnier of Lake Charles.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at Father John Windt Hall.
The couple resides in Lake Arthur.
