Bird On A Wire

A fledgling great horned owl was rescued Thursday morning after it flew into some barbed wire on a fence at Jerry Simmons Stadium.

Kenny Broussard, a groundskeeper who was cutting grass at the stadium that morning, discovered the owl whose wing was caught on the barbed wire section of a hurricane fence there. Broussard, along with his teenage son, Trent, said at first, they could not believe their eyes.

A fledgling great horned owl was rescued Thursday morning after it flew into a barbed wire fence at Jerry Simmons Stadium. Wildlife and Fisheries Biologist Kori Legleu was able to free the owl’s wing from the fence with the help of groundskeeper Kenny Broussard and his son Trent, who discovered the young owl while cutting the grass at the stadium.
