Earlene LeJeune Ackoury
A Mass of Christian burial for Earlene LeJeune Ackoury, 70, will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings. Mrs. Ackoury will be laid to rest in St. Jules Cemetery with Father Charles McMillin officiating her services.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, June 18, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, June 19, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass.
Mrs. LeJeune was called from this life on June 16, 2012.
Earlene LeJeune was born on July 10, 1941, to the late Raymond LeJeune and the late Malena Crochet LeJeune. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. Mrs. Ackoury also was a substitute teacher and coached sports to area young people. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Ackoury is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Nolan H. Ackoury of Jennings; her two sons, Nolan H. (Marianne) Ackoury Jr. of Moss Bluff, and Stephen P. Ackoury of Bradenton, Fla.; three daughters, Bridget C. Ackoury of Lafayette, Ruth A. (Eric) Trahan of Jennings, and Charlotte A. (Erik) Larson of Shreveport; her nine grandchildren, Tyler Trahan, Brett Benoit, Nichole A. Lanthier, Kristopher Ackoury, Kaitlynn A. Hollier, Erinn Ackoury, David Ackoury, David Larson, and Alexis Larson; and her two great-grandchildren, Joseph Lanthier and Sophia Lanthier. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories two brothers, Donald (Wilma) LeJeune of Evangeline and Leward (Carolyn) LeJeune, also of Evangeline; four sisters, Edna Pousson of Iota, Joyce Pousson of Groves, Texas, Lenora (Conrad) Meaux of Lafayette, and Glenda (Gary) Vincent of DeRidder; and one sister-in-law, Lena (Willard) LeJeune of Jennings.
