It’s time for a change this November
The Way I See It
by DON WEST
Judging from the underwhelming response to last week’s introduction of “Aunt Frumpy”, the advice columnist who knows everything there is to know about all that is unimportant in this world, I thought that I would remind you to send in those cards and letters to inquire about that problem you are having. Though several people called and stopped me on the street to comment on the column, I haven’t received any actual requests to solve a problem.
Apparently “King” Obama hasn’t found a reason to write to Aunt Frumpy, as the dictatorship seems to be running smoothly. His latest tactic has been to totally disregard immigration laws passed by Congress and decide that a portion of the illegal immigrants in this country will no longer be apprehended, prosecuted, or deported. He has given them some sort of amnesty, and I can only assume they will soon, if not already, start drawing Social Security, food stamps, WIC, free education, cell phones, and whatever else the “King” will dole out to his new prospective voters.
Of course, you fully understand that if you or I should side-step the laws of the land, such as not filing and paying our taxes on time, the power of “little Hitler” will be felt in short order. Those of us who did not and will not support a dictator are always in jeopardy of harassment, censure, dismissal, and loss of more of our freedoms. Our own Catholic faith is feeling the pressure from “King” Obama and has called practicing faithful to more intense prayer, beginning today and continuing through the Fourth of July, our accepted Independence Day of celebration. The “king”, through his new healthcare plan, is insisting that our Catholic institutions support birth control, abortions, etc., all of which conspire to remove the line of separation between church and State. Where are the ACLU, Jesse and the rest of the champions for the oppressed and why are they not stepping up to support those violations?
Friends, you better start paying attention to what is happening daily in your world, and think about your future and the futures of your heirs. One needs only to study a small part of history (start with the Roman Empire and then study Hitler) to realize that we are only a small step away from bondage and persecution. Will you continue to stand by and watch your nation succumb to dictatorship and socialist domination or will you fight for the rights that were gifted to you by our forefathers? It is your decision and November is nearing. There is hope we can still change.
