Jennings Medicaid office to close June 30

The state will be closing the Medicaid office in Jennings at the end of the month, and some staff members are asking the parish for help keeping two Medicaid employees housed in Jennings. The office will be closed as of June 30 because of budget cuts with the Louisiana Health and Hospitals system. Police Jury President Donald Woods said the jury would address the issue at a future meeting, as the topic was not included on this week’s agenda. A request was made that the parish consider allowing two Medicaid employees to remain in Jennings and work out of office space located at the Jeff Davis Health Unit, located on Baker Street in Jennings.
