Michalko inducted into 2012 SWLA High School Sports Hall of Fame nounces 2012 inductees

LAKE CHARLES — The Selection Committee of the Southwest Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame is proud to announce the names of the five 2012 inductees: Marcie Michalko of Lacassine High School; Gavin Cecchini of A.M. Barbe High School; Jodi Chatters of St. Louis Catholic High School; Sara Corbello of A.M. Barbe High School; and Chance Cronce of Singer High School. These inductees will be formally honored during the induction ceremony at the 15th Annual SWLA High School Sports Hall of Fame Banquet to be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Reeves Uptown Catering located at 1639 Ryan Street.

“Michalko is active in all facets of school and excels in all of them,” reported United Way of Southwest Louisiana in a press release. “Her willingness to put the team first before self has been a pleasure to see. Marcie is a true blueprint of a young lady. The community and the school are very proud of the academic success she has made for herself and the dedication she has shown toward the school and community with her involvement in many clubs and organizations. She is truly a role model for Pre-K through twelfth grade students.”
