LAKE ARTHUR – Funeral services for Rev. Dorothy Jean Authement, 80, will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012, at 10 a.m., in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Horace DelaFosse officiating.
Burial will be in Shell Beach Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
Rev. Authement died on Friday, June 29, 2012, at 7:25 a.m. in Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Funeral home visitation will be held today, Sunday, July 1, 2012, from 3-9 p.m., and will continue on Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Rev. Authement was a native Texan and a resident of Lake Arthur. She was a retired teacher and a member of the Texas Teachers Retirement Association and the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff Association. She was a homemaker and devoted to her family.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Shirley Ann (Anthony) Perry of Sulphur; four step-granddaughters, Tabitha Perry of Lake Arthur, Evelyn and Melissa Perry of Sulphur, and April Perkins of Jennings; a step-grandson, Sheldon Perry of Lake Charles; two step-great-granddaughters, Kaelyn Morgan of Sulphur, and Madison Perkins of Jennings; and a step-great-grandson, Christian Morgan of Sulphur.
Rev. Authement was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harry Authement.
