Magnes Simar Bullock
Funeral services for Magnes Simar “Toot” Bullock , 92, were held today, Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 2 p.m., at United Pentecostal Church in Evangeline. Mrs. Bullock was called to Heaven July 1, 2012. Toot was laid to rest in Bluff Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Benoit officiating her services.
Visitation was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, July 2, 2012, from 3:30-11 p.m. and resumed today, Tuesday, July 3, at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral services.
Magnes Simar was born in Evangeline to the late Joseph P. Simar and the late Merrillia Doucet on July 6, 1919. Known to her family and friends as “Toot”, she loved to go to church. She was a great cook and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Toot is survived by one son, Jerry (Vickie) Bullock of Evangeline; two daughters, Sandy (Butch) Miller and Coy Armentor, both of Evangeline; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Toot was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Merrillia D. Simar; her beloved husband, Joe Bullock; three brothers, Wilfred, Cleveland, and Bernard Simar; four sisters, Aline Abraham, Eula Babb, Lillie Mae LaComb, and Ollie Miller; one grandson, Joey Miller; one son-in-law, Bryan Armentor; and one great-grandson, Danny Miller.
Carrying Toot to her eternal resting place in Bluff Cemetery were Trevor Bullock, Eric May, Ryan Bullock, Cody Armentor, Corey Miller, and Dusty Miller. Honorary pallbearer was Butch Miller.
