Vet Named New Volunteer at Library

  U.S. Army Veteran Linward Manuel, 88, was presented Monday with an achievement certificate by Jeff Davis Library Director Linda Lebert-Corbello (right) and Mobile Branch Manager Kathy LeJeune (left) for volunteering to help out at the Veteran’s Home Library. Manuel will be responsible for assisting with clerical duties and helping residents, along with general upkeep of the library at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans home in Jennings. After spending over four years in the U.S. Army serving as a quartermaster in Egypt and North Africa, and a civilian career with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Manuel said he is looking forward to his new responsibility at the library.
