Parish prepares for threat of Isaac

By ALLISON CRYER

Daily News Staff Writer

With the strong winds and rains of Isaac expected to make their way from the gulf into the parish, officials here say they are prepared for the worst case scenario. Officials announced that parish schools, including Our Lady Immaculate, will be closed on Wednesday, resuming on Thursday.

Jennings Mayor Terry Duhon said Monday that workers started bagging sandbags at the city’s streets department, located on the corner of S. Main St. and E. Jefferson. He said anyone who needs sandbags should get them as early as possible, as supplies are limited.
