Bernadette Dill Jones
WELSH – Bernadette Dill Jones, 93, came into this world as a child of God and was welcomed back into the kingdom of our Father with her children by her side on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012.
Services for our mother will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Cemetery. Father Herbert May will officiate.
Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, from 4-10 p.m., with a scripture service at 6 p.m. followed by a rosary. Visitation will resume on Monday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Mrs. Jones was a resident of Welsh where she taught school for 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. She was a Catholic Daughter for 60 years, Eucharistic Minister and Lector, she also sang in the funeral choir and was a member of The Ladies Altar Society. She loved to ballroom dance and, after moving to Welsh, she would laugh and say she had to learn to dance to “Cajun” music.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Blanchard Jones Jr. of Pineville; two daughters, Mary (Steve) Sonnier and Judy (Donald) Robinson, all of Welsh; five grandchildren, Ralph Anthony Robinson and his companion Tammy Gatte, Donald Rhett Robinson, Bernadette Nicole Sonnier and her partner Felicia Moore, Stephen Elliott (Heather) Sonnier and Kimberly Ann (William) Mallette; and four great-grandchildren, Justin Rhett Robinson, Brandi Rachelle Robinson, Gavin Christopher Sonnier and Dane Elliott Sonnier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Blanchard Jones Sr.; her parents, David and Bernadette Dill; her brothers, George Dill, David Dill Jr., and Charles Dill Sr.; and her sisters, Vivian Folse, Eleanor McGill, Hilda Landry and Marjorie Malarcher.
