Captains: Captains were seniors Keaton Bertrand and Keagan Deaville.
Coin Toss: Eunice won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff.
Big Play: Eunice blocked a Jennings punt late in the game and Kurt Viges returned it to the 2 yard line. The Bobcats scored on the next play to take their only lead of the game.
Big Hit: Curtis Bell ran over and leveled Eunice’s Derek Denton after a pass reception.
Longest Drive: Jennings had a 10-play, 91-yard scoring drive on their first offensive possession of the night.
Quick Score: Jennings had a one-play drive when Bryan Wilridge sprinted 64 yards to the endzone giving the Dogs a 21-14 lead.
Longest Pass: Jaylon Boutte and Curtis Bell teamed up for a 38-yard pass play.
Longest Run: Bryan Wildridge’s touchdown run of 64 yards was the longest run of the night.
Longest Return: The Bobcats’ Hayden Pitre returned the opening kickoff 30 yards.
It’s Up, It’s Good: Freshman kicker Seth Cox was 3 for 3 on extra points. He is 8 for 8 on the season.
1st Downs: Jennings had 20 first downs and Eunice mustered 11 first downs.
3rd Down Conversions: Jennings converted 6 of 12 third down opportunities and Eunice was 4 for 9.
4th Down Conversions: Jennings was good on 3 of 4 fourth down tries. Cecilia did not attempt to convert a fourth down.
Turnovers: Jennings lost two fumbles, had an interception, and a punt blocked. Eunice lost one fumble.
Series: Jennings leads the series 34-23-2.
On Deck: The Dogs will have their home opener Friday night when they host the St. Louis Saints of class 4-A.
Number 1 Fan: The Bulldogs number one fan, Nolan Clawson, was absent Friday night while recuperating from an appendectomy. Hope to see Nolan Friday.
Congrats: Congratulations to coach Chad Lavergne and the Lake Arthur Tigers on their second win of the year and coach Doyle Carter and his Elton Indians on their first win of the year.
Thanks: A great big thanks to Eunice High School and their hospitality. The food was good and it was nice to see old friends.
Caring Foe: St. Louis High School and their community raised money to help hurricane ravaged East St. John, their Friday night opponent. They also provided them with workout gear and personal items for the players and fed the fans and players with an after-game meal. What a compassionate act of kindness.
Good Job: Former JHS assistant coach Shawn Demeritt won his opening game Friday night as the Demeritt era opened in Westlake.
Congratulations: Coach Vaughn Eggleston, former Bulldog assistant for Matt Viator, got his first win of the 2012 season with his Sam Houston Broncos.
How Bout Them Warhawks? UL Monroe upset the No. 8-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks 34-31 in overtime. Can you say soooo-eeeee?
Save the Date: Friday, Oct. 5th, the state champions from 1939 and 1992 will be honored at halftime of the Jennings versus Notre Dame game.
Save the Date II: The third annual Melissa Doise Hope for the Miracle 5K Breast Cancer Race/Walk will be held Oct. 27 at 8 a.m..

Week Two, 1962: Jennings 27, Crowley 14: Charlie Partin led the Dogs with two touchdown runs and Frank Matte had one touchdown run. Nelson Stokley was the offensive leader for the Gents.
Week Two, 1987: Jennings 0 Crowley 23: The defense was led by Carl Mallet with nine tackles and a fumble recovery, Kyle LeJeune and Shane LeBlanc both had eight tackles, Jody Fontenot recorded seven tackles, blocked a punt, and recovered a fumble and Quinten Williams added six stops.
Week Two, 2000: Jennings 33, Many 14: Courtlin Greis and Kedrick Ethridge helped the Dogs come back from 14 points down. Greis had touchdown runs of one yard and 64 yards. Ethridge added touchdowns of 9, 12, and 54 yards.
