LAKE CHARLES – Funeral services for Catherine Angelle “Kitty” Welch, 35, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at 4 p.m. in the chapel at Lakeside Funeral Home.
Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Ms. Welch’s cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
Kitty died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, in Houston while attempting to cross Interstate 45 to help a woman in trouble. Kitty always had a huge heart, and always stood for those in trouble, and her last act personifies John 15:13: “greater love has no one: than to lay down one’s life for another.”
She was born and raised in Jennings and had lived in Houston, Texas, for the last two years.
Kitty leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted daughter, Emily Welch; her step-daughter, Danielle LeJeune; her mother, Catherine Welch; three sisters, Mary Joe Shirah, Charlotte Welch and Madeline Overland; four brothers, Grizzly Welch, Amil Welch, Sam Welch and Henry Welch; and Emily’s father, Danny Allen. Kitty was preceded in death by her father, Sonny Welch; and her sister, Emelie Welch. She will be missed by all who knew her.
