Free Library Class “Microsoft Office Word 2010: Level 1”
The Jeff Davis Parish Library is teaming up with the state to offer the computer class, “Microsoft Office Word 2010: Level 1,” for free to the public. The class will held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 at the Jennings Headquarters Branch located at 118 W. Plaquemine Street. United Night of Worship

Steve Menard Poker Run
A Poker Run to help defray medical and funeral expenses for Steve Menard will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8. The run will kickoff from Shop Rite in Jennings with registration from 8-10 a.m. The fee is $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. The run will end up at the Fire Hut in Welsh where food will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will also be a raffle and a washerboard tournament. Wade Hammond Concert
Bethel Ministries’ TNT group presents country/christian music artist Wade Hammond in concert on Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bethel Auditorium. Emergency Personnel Service
Jesus Worship Center will host a special service at 10:30 a.m. at the Grand Marais Ballroom on Sunday, Sept. 9 to honor all emergency workers in Jeff Davis Parish. Gene Mills, the executive director of the Louisiana Family Forum (LFF), a Focus on the Family affiliate, will be the guest speaker.
