The Jennings Bulldogs dominated Eunice on the stat sheets last Friday, with nearly twice as many first downs and total yards on the night. But the Bulldogs ultimately fell to their Bobcat hosts, 28-21. The difference in the final score was due to mental mistakes, as the Dogs lost two fumbles, had a punt blocked, threw an interception, and had a touchdown called back because of a penalty in the close contest.
The game wasn’t decided until the final 15 seconds, when the Dogs threatened to tie the game from Eunice’s 18-yard line. The Cats secured the win with an interception in the endzone to improve to 2-0 on the year. Jennings dropped to 1-1 on the early season.

The Jennings cheer and dance teams traveled to Eunice last Friday to support their Bulldogs, but “home is where the heart is” for most Bulldog fans. The public is encouraged to attend Friday’s home opener at Jerry Simmons Stadium, when Jennings takes on visiting St. Louis for week-three of the season.

Good luck to the Bulldogs this Friday with the Saints! Enjoyed reading Tom Precht’s column, and perfect of him to remember 9/11! I’ll never forget getting on the bus that week and heading up to Many. A very emotional national anthem, and a tough, hard-fought game to coach and play in.
