Dogs host, defeat St. Louis

The Jennings Bulldogs controlled the St. Louis Saints for the first 41 minutes of Friday night’s non-district contest in Jerry Simmons Stadium. Jennings led 21-6 with 7:01 remaining in regulation play. The Saints then took over for the remainder of the game, gaining 99 of their 248 total yards on the night. They also scored 15 points to knot the score at 21-21 with 32 ticks left in regulation play, forcing the game into overtime.
Jennings won the coin toss to begin overtime and elected to go on defense first. The Saints got into the end zone on third down and goal from the two-yard line. DeKeinen Francois went into the end zone and Alexander Kjellsten kicked the extra point to give the Saints their first lead of the night at 28-21. The Bulldogs then had their turn going to the Landry end zone. Kaleb Chaisson pitched to Lamontay Mouton on the option and Mouton waltzed into the end zone on first and 10. After an offside penalty against the Saints, Jennings went for two. Jarquis Brown found the end zone to give the Dogs a thrilling 29-28 win.
