JPD following leads in bank robbery

Jennings police have reportedly received several tips from the public in reference to the recent armed robbery at the West Division Branch of Jeff Davis Bank. Jennings Police Department Deputy Chief Danny Semmes said those leads are being investigated at this time. Meanwhile, investigators are awaiting results from the crime lab and remain hopeful that forensic evidence was also left at the scene that will help police identity the bank robbers.
“We’re still following up on leads and processing evidence,” Semmes said, “but we’ve also received some tips from the public. We’re following up on those tips at this time.”

Suspects used this vacant home on Washington Street to park their getaway vehicle in last week’s armed robbery of Jeff Davis Bank. Anyone who saw suspicious activity at this home is encouraged to call the JPD’s anonymous tips line at 275-9002.
