Local shelter seeks homes for unwanted animals

Dogs of all breeds are being held at the City of Jennings Animal Shelter but volunteers there are hoping kindhearted residents give them the chance to have a permanent home.

When the shelter filled to capacity last week, Animal Control Officer Debbie Breaux and volunteers worked overtime to find homes for the pups, said volunteer Bree Fontenot. Many of the dogs, including some six-week-old puppies, were taken in by the public but more dogs still remain in shelter kennels.
