Louie Alfred Moore, Jr.
Louie Alfred Moore, Jr., 89, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Jeff Davis Parish, passed away at his residence Sept. 27, 2012.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home at 825 Government Street.
Interment will follow in Port Hudson National Cemetery.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946, and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas where he obtained his B.S. and M.S. +30 degrees. He was an educator in Jeff Davis Parish from 1949 until 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Irma K. Moore; two daughters, Sharon Moore of Astoria, NY, and Barbara Richard and husband Mike of Pineville; two sons, Paul K. Moore and wife Judy of Baton Rouge and Robert A. Moore and wife Jacqui of Roanoke; a brother, A.T. Moore and wife Maxine of Shreveport; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie A. Moore, Sr. and Reba Moore; and a sister, Miriam Moore Andrus.
