Mr. Edmond Joseph Lopez Jr.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial was held for Mr. Edmond “Ricochet” Joseph Lopez Jr., today, Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.
Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation resumed today, Friday, Sept. 28, from 8 a.m. until the time of services
Mr. Lopez died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at 10:03 a.m. at his residence.
Mr. Lopez was a native and lifelong resident of Jennings. He was a graduate of Goretti High School in Lake Arthur and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Lopez loved to fish and drive trucks.
He is survived by four sons, Shawn (Tammy) Lopez of DeRidder, Shane (Tina) Lopez of Mittie, Justine (Heather) Lopez of DeRidder, and Teddy Guidry of Crowley; five sisters, Shirleen L. (Voorhies) Vincent of Jennings, Kathy (Ricky) Hulin of Jennings, Patricia (Nickie) Girouard of Vidor, Texas, Karen (Joe) Fisher of Vidor, Texas, and Debra Hatton of Vidor, Texas; two brothers, Scott (Vanessa) Lopez of Jennings and Carl Gary of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three special caregivers, Sammie Reid, Stori Comeaux and Sonya LeBleu.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond Joseph Lopez Sr. and Lena Mae Fruge Lopez; two brothers, Darrel and Greg “Red” Gary; his step-mother, Louella Lopez; and his stepfather, Duplessie “Chute” Landry.
