   Why did the crawfish cross the road? The majority of female crawfish in burrows will lay their eggs in late September and on into October. So if crawfish are crawling around right now, don’t get too excited. The majority of stock crawfish in most ponds should still be in the grounds until the recommended flood-up period in October, which means the boiling pots don’t need to be prepared until mid to late November.
