Telephone tip takes down burglary ring

With the help of an anonymous phone call from a concerned citizen this week, city police were able to shut down a burglary ring. Three suspects were arrested in the case.

Anthony Jones, 22, of Granger Street in Jennings, Robert Earl Simpson, 31, of Port Arthur, Texas, and Davis Freeman, 24, of Ville Platte were all arrested and booked in to the city jail Monday on charges of aggravated burglary, felon carrying an illegal weapon and simple burglary. Simpson was also charged with burglary of a religious building and theft of goods.
