Welsh – Funeral services for Carline Meche, 71, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Pam Roy will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin today, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, from 5-9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh and resume Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time.
She passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in a local care center.
Mrs. Meche enjoyed reading, Elvis music, casinos, pokeno and Scrabble with her sister. She worked at the post office. Her grandkids loved having her cook breakfast for them. She was always a caregiver and she was a great “joker”.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Huntor (Missy) Meche; daughters Pamela Faye Meche (Jerry Hargrave Jr.), Paula Kaye (Benny) Granger, and Penny Gail (Rocky ) Fontenot; sister-in-law Peggy (Russell) Oliver; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roy Meche; her parents, Johnathan and Florine McCown Sr.; her sisters, Margaret Mae Benoit, Agnes Ruth Meyers and Thelma Davis; and her brothers, Johnathan Wilbur McCown and Johnathan Ezra McCown Jr.
