The Jennings Bulldogs traveled to Crowley last night to battle the Crowley Gents in a rare Thursday night game. The Dogs spotted the Gents seven points early and then scored 29 unanswered points to lead them to a 39-14 district win. The victory broke a two-game losing streak and gave the Dogs their first league win of the year. They rolled up 333 yards on the ground and only threw one pass all night.
“We went back to fundamental football,” JHS Coach Rusty Phelps said. “I am so happy for the kids, they are smiling. It’s great to see them and our coaching staff smiling. I’m very proud of them. We got off the two-game slide and it was nice to get a win on the road.”
