Elton citizens to see small property tax increase

ELTON – Officials here accepted a millage rate that will slightly raise property taxes for homeowners, but that increase will only bring an extra $535 into the town annually.
Property values across the parish were recently reassessed, revealing an increase in value. Elected officials in each municipality had the option of adjusting millage rates, but any new rates could not exceed the previous year’s maximum.
