DEQUINCY – Defense wins championships. If that’s the case, the Welsh Greyhounds can get in line, as they dominated the DeQuincy Tigers on the defensive side of the football. The Greyhound defense allowed the hosts just 28 yards rushing, 31 yards passing and no points in its 34-14 District 4-2A win. With the victory, the Hounds move to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in league play.

The only points the Tigers were able to record came on a 95-yard kickoff return just before the half, as well as a tipped pass that was intercepted and returned for a score in the third stanza. Dequincy had just one first down at intermission and finished with just four first downs for the entire game.
