Funeral services for Jessie Ardoin, 86, will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors in Welsh. Father Herbert May will officiate. Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Mausoleum.
Visitation will begin today, Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 2-10 p.m. and will resume Monday, Oct. 29, from 8 a.m. until the time of services at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh. Rosary will be led by the Welsh Prayer Group at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Funeral Home in Welsh.
He passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Jennings Veterans Home.
He was a WWII Army veteran and a farm manager. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He loved gardening, casinos and was an avid hunter. He was also an usher for many years at Our Lady of Seven Dolors.
He is survived by his son, Robert J. (Karen) Ardoin of Welsh; daughters Sherrill (Carl) Sonnier of Welsh; and Judy (Joe) Bertrand of Welsh; brothers Harry (Lillian) Ardoin of Jennings and Thomas (Dean) Ardoin of Welsh; one sister Lena Benoit of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Ardoin of Welsh; and one brother-in-law, Forrest Kibodeaux of Lake Arthur; and seven grandchildren, Johnathan Bertrand, Justin, Jessica and Kaitlyn Sonnier, Jessie, Christopher and Taylor Ardoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Margaret Ardoin; his wife, Wina Mae Kibodeaux Ardoin; three brothers, Robert Ardoin, Clyde Ardoin and Sidney Ardoin; a brother-in-law, Wilsie Benoit; a sister-in-law, Frances Ardoin; and one grandchild, Alex Ardoin.
