John Everette Abshire, NCO, B.S, M.A.
LAFAYETTE – A native of Welsh and resident of Prairieville, John Everette Abshire, NCO, B.S., M.A. passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at the age of 37. He was an Army veteran and a retired professor and academic manager at the University of Phoenix.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sirika Tiffany Rampersad Abshire; his daughter, Kristen Paige Abshire; his son, Graison Reid Abshire; his precious Yorkshire terrier, Indra Leigh Abshire; his parents, Ronald Abshire Sr. and Cheryle Bourgeois Abshire; his sister, Rhonda (David) Matte; and two brothers, Donovan Abshire and Ronald Abshire Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Walters Funeral Home, located at 2424 North University Ave. in Lafayette. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the memorial beginning at 2 p.m. A special thanks goes out to Gene Walters, a fellow veteran, for his open heart and generosity.
