Lydia Gravelle
Aunt Lydia was a lifelong resident of Jennings.She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Jennings and opened her home to several summer interns who served her church. She taught the four year-old Sunday school class for over 40 years. She was retired from Jeff Davis Electric where she worked for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Gravelle; and sisters, Priscilla Stagg and Azalea Jester; and a niece Eloise Richard.
She is survived by her nephews, Jess (Janet) Gravelle of Houston, Texas; Lem (Sue) Gravelle of Lafayette, Ronnie (Pauline) Jester of Jackson, Miss., Arnie (Eleanor) Jester of Perryville, Ark., Rick (Susan) Stagg of Monroe; and nieces Dinah (Flip) Richard of Jennings, Ginger (Skip) Dean of West Monroe, Evanna (Bubba) Ruth of Lucedale, Miss., and Charlotte (Richie) Dickson of Clarksdale, Miss.
Aunt Lydia was dearly loved by all and enjoyed family outings and good food. The family wants to express special thanks to Mrs. Mary Louise Neely for taking Aunt Lydia to church when she could not take herself.
Funeral home visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, and will resume on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. Saturday until time of services at 10 a.m. in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Aunt Lydia died at 5:40 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in Jennings American Legion Hospital.
