Funeral services honoring the life of Mabel Corbello Gary, 92, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Mabel will be laid to rest in Lacassine Cemetery with Father Charles McMillin officiating her services.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her services at Matthews and Son Funeral Home.
Mabel was born in Lacassine to the late Everett Corbello and the late Celeste Louviere Corbello on June 26, 1920. She waitressed at the VFW and the Courthouse Café many years ago until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, sewing and growing flowers.
Mabel is survived by her son, Stanford (Mary) Gary of Independence; one daughter, Rose Marie Gary Guidry of Lake Charles; two brothers, Frank Corbello of Lake Charles and Martin Corbello of Lacassine; and her sister, Goldie Miller of Lake Charles.
Mabel now rests in Heaven with her beloved family whom preceded her in death: her parents, Everett and Celeste Corbello; three sons, Joseph Fred Gary Jr., Harold Gary, and Ray Allen Gary; and one sister, Belanda Gary.
