Thefts lead to discontinuation of youth program

A local non-profit program that worked to provide area youth with extracurricular opportunities has been discontinued thanks to thieves.
At a recent meeting of the Jeff Davis Parish (JDP) School Board, members voted to give permission to receive appraisals on the former James Ward Elementary School buildings located on Wilbert D. Rochelle Avenue in Jennings. The old campus was being utilized as the JDP Youth Community Center (YCC).
