A Mass of Christian burial will be held honoring the life of Carolyn W. Reed, age 65, on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings.

Carolyn was called to her Heavenly Father on Nov. 22, 2012, while in the comfort of her home in DeQuincy. Carolyn will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum with Father Charles McMillin officiating her services.

Visitation will be held today, Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, from 2-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral Mass at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings.

Carolyn was born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 9, 1947, to the late George R. Wesch Sr. and the late Julia Michalik Wesch. She was a homemaker and a loving mother.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 45 wonderful years, Robert “Tony” Reed of DeQuincy; two daughters, Michelle (Kevin) James of Las Vegas, Nev., and Melissa Morgan of Lubbock, Texas; one son, Michael (Ashley) Reed of DeQuincy; six grandchildren, Adam Goodreau, Carson Brockette, Wyatt Morgan, Emily Reed, Jordan James and Kelsey James; her six siblings and their spouses, George R. (Ada) Wesch Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas, Frank (Lola) Wesch and of San Antonio, Texas, Mary (Ron) Schimandle of Lakehills, Texas, Barbara (Mike) Stroud of Lakehills, Texas, Marius (Diana) Wesch of San Antonio, Texas, and Jerry Wesch of Alvin, Texas; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn  was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, George R. and Julia Wesch; her father-in-law, Wallace Reed; and her mother-in-law, Iona “Sis” Reed.
