It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Dennis Ray Duhon announces his passing from this life on Nov. 28, 2012, while doing something he loved to do, which was hunting. He was 53 years old. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. in celebration of his life. Dennis will be laid to eternal rest in Istre Cemetery. The Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot will be officiating his funeral mass.

The Duhon family requests that visiting hours be observed at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 4-10 p.m. with a rosary recited by Deacon Bennett McNeil at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral mass.

Dennis Ray was born in Kaplan to Donner Trahan Duhon and the late Gary Duhon on March 18, 1959. He worked as a lead operator for Island Operating, Inc. Dennis had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a wonderful and loving son, husband, father and friend to many.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Faircloth Duhon of Jennings; his two beautiful daughters, Megan and Marli Duhon, both of Jennings; his mother, Donner Trahan Duhon of Crowley; his brother, Gerald Duhon of Galveston, Texas; three sisters, Winnie (Neil) Riley of Florence, S.C., Colette Kibodeaux of Dublin, Va., and Celeste (Johnny) Dedon of Baton Rouge; his mother-in-law, Claudia Faircloth of Jennings; and his two sisters-in-law, Ria Faircloth of Lake Arthur and Michele Faircloth of Jennings.

Dennis now rests in Heaven with his beloved family who preceded him in death: his father, Gary Duhon; one brother, Dwayne Duhon; and his father-in-law, John Hugh Faircloth.

Carrying Dennis to his eternal resting place in Istre Cemetery will be Jim Hester, Steven Main, Joel Zaunbrecher, Jules Martin, John Portie, Mark Menard and Rusty Faircloth. Honorary pallbearers will include Donnie Hearod, Joe Hoake and Brian Smith.
