Dogs fall short in double overtime

ayoff run came to an end Friday night as they fell to the Livonia Wildcats, 24-21, in double overtime in the Class 3A Quarterfinals.

The 13th-seeded Bulldogs had their chances to win late in the game but fell short.  The Bulldogs’ Seth Cox attempted a 40-yard field goal with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter but it was blocked. In the first overtime, the fifth-seeded Wildcats got the ball first and attempted a field goal, but it was deflected by the goalpost, giving the Bulldogs their second chance at winning the game.  Cox’s 29-yard field goal attempt was then blocked again by the Wildcats, forcing the second overtime.

Jennings went toe to toe with their quarterfinal hosts Friday but fell just short of the win in double overtime. The no. 13-ranked Dogs finished their outstanding season with an overall 9-4 slate.
