Edward E. Ardoin
Welsh – Edward E. Ardoin, 85, passed away Nov. 7, 2012, at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, surrounded by family.
His funeral was at 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors. Father Charles McMillin officiated. Visitation began Friday, Nov. 9 from 4-9 p.m. with a scripture service at 6 p.m. and rosary at 6:30 p.m. and resumed Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. until service time at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
He worked at Chennault Air Force Base as a maintenance superintendent and also worked at PPG as a pipefitter. He was a US veteran of WWII and a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors and Knights of Columbus. He loved gardening and harvesting his produce.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Melba B. Ardoin; his children, Allen (Patty) Ardoin and Sharon McMillin, both of Welsh, and Janet (Tom) Cargile of Sulphur; his brother, Conway (Beverly) Ardoin of Welsh; his grandchildren, Shane (Leighia) Ardoin, Brandy Ardoin, Candice Ardoin, Chase Ardoin, Bryce Armentor, April (Brad) Leger and Erica (Zeb) Marcotte; his great-grandchildren, Aiden Ardoin, Skylar Ardoin, Harper Marcotte and Emerson Marcotte; and waiting arrival of Landon Leger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Drozin and Adelina Louviere Ardoin; five brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers were Shane Ardoin, Chase Ardoin, Bryce Armentor, Brad Leger, Zeb Marcotte and Chuck Ardoin. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
