Lady Dogs open Elton Tourney with win

The Jennings Lady Bulldogs inched past the Welsh Lady Greyhounds Thursday, 47-44, to open the Elton Tournament. The win helped the Lady Dogs even up their record to 1-1 on the young season.
In first quarter action, the Lady Greyhounds struck first with a layup only to see Jennings respond with an 8-0 run fueled by Jada Bradley, Rocquera Brantley, Kaily Breaux and Sydni Duplechan. Scrappy play by the Lady Greyhounds got them back in the game with a 9-0 run of their own to lead 13-10 at the end of the first quarter.

Jennings and Welsh competed in a back and forth affair Thursday that ended in a Lady Dog victory.
