LAKE ARTHUR – Funeral services for Mrs. Leola Guidry Dupuis, 80, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.
Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
Funeral home visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, and will resume at 8 a.m. Friday until time of services.
A rosary, led by the Catholic Daughters, will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Dupuis died at 5:34 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Iowa.
Mrs. Dupuis was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Dupuis Ledger of Iowa; one son, Leonard “Lenny” Dupuis of Iowa; three grandchildren, Richard Ledger Sr., Leonard Jude II and fiance’ Jessica Meche and Lenzie Dupuis-Andrus (Mike); and five great-grandchildren, Richard Conner, Richard Ledger Jr., and Gavin, Bailee and Alaina Dupuis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Elia Andrus Guidry; her husband, Eras Dupuis; and one sister, Zilda Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Lenny, Jude and Gavin Dupuis and Clyde, Wallace, Emery and Bryan Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Constantine, Thomas Pete, Bill Marceaux, Lenor Cox and her numerous nieces and nephews.
