Parish approves repair of five bridges closed by state

The parish approved the repair of five bridges that were closed after state inspectors deemed them unsafe for travel last month.
On Wednesday, the Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury voted unanimously to approve the repairs to bridges on BeBee Road and DeWolf Road near Fenton; Ardoin Road and Bryan Road in Hathaway; and Parish Line Road near Lacassine.

A bridge on Ardoin Road near Hathaway will be the first to be repaired by the parish, with work scheduled to start some time next week.
