Prescription assistance available to seniors

As senior citizens work to determine which Medicare plans most effectively fit their budgets and needs, many might find relief with programs that offer discounted or free medications.
Jeff Davis Parish (JDP) Council on Aging (COA) Activities Director Kim Benoit said as the enrollment season for Medicare is underway, many seniors are looking for ways to cover costs not handled by the government program. On Monday, Dec. 17, the COA is welcoming representatives from Louisiana SenioRx, a non-profit state program that helps seniors obtain discounted or free medication through pharmaceutical programs.
