Support The President

Dear Editor,

I keep up with the happenings in my hometown, by reading what I can online. Over the last 3 years, I’m finding it not so enjoyable to read. Every week the same individual’s make it a point to write hateful articles in reference to President Obama since the day he was elected. When will the hate end? You have no idea what’s being spent daily on this war because if you did, you would not make statements regarding as to how much this President has put us in debt. We were in a deep mess when the President Obama took office. People like you , who constantly write negative comments and hate messages are the very same people who gave President BUSH a second term, because they felt he was the better one to clean up what he started in the beginning. I don’t care if you like it or not, President Obama inherited a mess, POINT BLANK, and many looked for him to fail.  The day after President Obama was elected in office, I walked into the post office in Jennings and overheard two individuals talking about how the United States was going down, and how it was a sad day for America. It was a sad day for me, because I could not believe what I was hearing in 2008, 1970’s maybe, but not 2008. They did not see me at first, but I made my presence be known and that is when they went silent.  He had not taken over as president yet, but people had begun to speak ill about him. He was not given a chance from the beginning. I can’t recall any President of the U.S. ever enduring this much hate and disrespect. They tried with the birth certificate, NOTHING….they said he was a Muslim and was trying to change America to a Muslim country, again all lies. They continued to try and discredit this man. Enough is enough with your hate. For the record, I do not agree with everything he does, but I’m willing to give him a chance, just as I have given all Presidents from the past a chance.

The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away from anger. A wicked man listens to evil lips; a liar pays attention to a malicious tongue. He who mocks the poor shows contempt for their Maker; whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.
