Welsh mayor, aldermen positions could see pay raise

WELSH – Officials here are considering increasing the monthly pay of the next mayor and group of aldermen.

During the town’s monthly meeting, which was held Monday night, Alderman Charles Drake proposed the increases. Those increases, if passed, would go into effect in Jan. 2013. Drake suggested increasing the Welsh mayor’s pay from $1,000 to $1,500 while aldermen’s monthly pay would jump from $200 to $300.
