(Editor’s Note: The following is the second of two stories highlighting convictions recently obtained in the 31st Judicial District Court.)

Jeff Davis Parish District Attorney Michael C. Cassidy announced the following convictions recently obtained during the criminal petit jury on Nov. 26 in the 31st Judicial District Court in Jennings.

Ray Allen Landry, of Lake Arthur, pled no contest to possession of a legend drug. Under the Provisions of Article 893 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Court deferred imposition of any sentence and placed him on supervised probation for a period of two years. Special conditions of probation are that he pay a fine of $1000 plus court costs; pay $100 to the Jeff Davis Parish District Attorney reimbursement fund; pay $40 to the indigent defender reimbursement fund; pay a $250 crime lab fee; pay $50 to the drug education and treatment fund; serve six months in the parish jail, which may be served through the home incarceration program; be evaluated by a Court approved Addictive Disorder Clinic at his own expense and comply with any recommendations; submit to unannounced and random drug screens at the defendant’s expense and at the probation officer’s discretion during the term of probation; and pay $50 per month supervised probation fee.
