DA pushes for probation requirements to be met in vandalism case

Three locals who pled guilty earlier this year to vandalizing Jeff Davis cemeteries headed back to court Dec. 3 in order to ensure terms of their probation would be enforced.

Dacota Miguez and Sebastian Abshire, both of Jennings, and Joselyn Mire of Evangeline were placed on probation in June when they admitted to the Feb. 12 vandalizing of cemeteries. Red, white and blue spray paint was used to graffiti more than a dozen graves and headstones while windows were also broken at Greenwood Cemetery mausoleum. In addition, approximately 15 headstones, as well as vases and other items, were found damaged at Doucet Cemetery in Hathaway.
