Dorothy LaBauve
LAKE ARTHUR – It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy “Dot” LaBauve announces her passing from this life on Dec. 23, 2012. She was 92.
A Mass of Christian burial was held today, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur. Dot was laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery. Father Charles McMillin officiated her services.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, from 4:30-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur. Visiting hours resumed today, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, from 8 a.m. until the time of her services.
Dorothy was born in Lake Arthur to the late Joseph Brown and the late Ozia Beard Brown on Jan. 6, 1920. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and participating in the church fairs.
Dot is survived by her son, Christopher LaBauve of Lake Arthur; one daughter, Roberta (Howard) Dyke, also of Lake Arthur; a special daughter, Carole Hebert Roy; three grandchildren, Seth (Elizabeth) Dyke, Clint Dyke and Katelyn LaBauve; and her two step-grandchildren, Crystal Durio and Cody Durio.
Dot now rests in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Joseph and Ozia Brown; her husband, Adam LaBauve; one daughter-in-law, Rebecca LaBauve; three brothers, Eddie, Darcey and Durphy Brown; and her sister, Ollie Hartwell.
Carrying Dot to her eternal resting place in Andrus Cove Cemetery was Gaylor Brown, Tyler Brown, Randall Brown, Seth Dyke, Clint Dyke and Edward Hartwell. Honorary pallbearer was Katelyn LaBauve.
