Funeral services will be held honoring the life of Eva Arline Stakes, 65, on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings. Mrs. Eva will be laid to rest in China Cemetery with Reverend Lawrence Daigle officiating her services.

The family requests visitation be observed today, Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, from 3-10 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, Dec. 14 at 8 a.m. until the time of her services at Matthews and Son Funeral Home.

She went to meet her Heavenly Father on Dec. 12, 2012.

Eva was born March 24, 1947, in Jennings to the late Therodore and Ethel Tupper Edalgo. Eva was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Her favorite hobbies were shopping and going to the casino. Eva enjoyed her time spent with her little dog Lucy. She was a loving mother and grandmother and especially loved to spend time with her three grandchildren.

Eva is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Lucien) Peyres of Lumberton, Texas, Elizabeth Stakes (Drozen III) Gary of Jennings and Donna Stakes (and her fiance, Tony Vuong) of Evangeline; one brother, Ray Edalgo of Evangeline; and three sisters, Loyce Bernard and Joyce Daigle, both of Evangeline, and Edith Deville of Gott’s Cove; and her three grandchildren, Abagail Stakes, Scarlet Stakes and Drozen Gary IV.

Eva was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved family whom preceded her in death: her parents, Therodore and Ethel Edalgo; her beloved husband, Robert Stakes; and one brother, Henry Fontenot.
